For over three years now I’ve lived in downtown Manhattan. When I first moved to the city, I had a brief respite of about 9 months living on the Upper East Side and while I loved the proximity to Central Park, the fact that the neighborhood is rather quiet and a short stroll away from Madison and Park Avenues…I quickly learned downtown was more of my vibe. I was going out downtown, brunching downtown and visiting friends downtown so I spent loads of $$ on cabs and rarely had many friends making the trip up to my place.

Now that I’ve spent the majority of my New York life downtown, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I adore where I live in the East Village and have culled together so many favorites that are go-tos for myself and when visitors come to town. I also have worked downtown in the West Village now for a year and a half and I treasure my walks to/from the Eastside to the Westside. In the mornings it is so peaceful and quiet- not words typically used to describe the downtown scene. And it’s such a pleasure to explore new sections of my neighborhood and near work when shooting with Bekka.

I picked up these booties during the flurry of sales happening post Thanksgiving and love their mix of suede/leather. They are currently already marked down and now an EXTRA 40% OFF. You can’t beat that. (So are the sandals that I wore here, FYI).

And I mentioned it before but my Sophie Hulme bag shown here is now back in stock. For the past 6 months I’ve been getting questions about where to find it in this size and it has been sold out! If you are looking for a great investment bag that is under $1,000 I can’t recommend this one enough. I have used it so much this past year and get so many compliments on it for the subtle yet edgy gold hardware and pebbled leather.

Finally, today marks EIGHT YEARS of blogging for me. WOAH. WOWZA. HOLY COW. That’s essentially how I feel. I can’t believe how quickly it has gone and how much this blog has given me. It is so special that readers like you support me and come to visit, send emails, leave comments, engage on social channels…I find it all so rewarding and sometimes rather unbelievable that something I started as a hobby and as a creative outlet has provided so much to me. A deep and profound, Thank You is certainly called for – I wouldn’t be here without you. Here’s to many more years past 8!

xx, Meghan
