The August Beauty Edit I wit & whimsy

Sharing my August Beauty Edit today featuring some recent products I’ve tried and loved. These are all gooooood.

Bottega Organica Dual-Action Lavender Body Spray:

So many times body oils are too heavy. I have one from France that I really love but this Bottega Organica one is a new favorite because of its application. The mist is so fine that it applies evenly all over. The oil + water base is made from cold-pressed olive oil and the lavender and St. John’s wort blend aids in refreshing and soothing the skin. It’s particularly fantastic to apply once you’re out of the shower and on days you’ve had sun exposure.

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Telluride:

If there’s one beauty trend I’ve been obsessed with this summer it’s highlighting. I cannot get enough of the great attempt to get that lit-from-within glow. I’ve been using an illuminator primer as a canvas for my makeup and then also trying a variety of powders for my cheekbones. I really love the shade of this Bobbi Brown powder because of its warm tones that help in a bit of contouring and because you can build it as you apply. The highlighting is subtle yet effective.

MAC Strobe Cream:

This is some kind of genius stuff. It can soothe skin, moisten it, freshen it up – you name it. It’s particularly great on those days you wake up and your skin looks dull or tired but no extra Zzzs are you in your near future. Pro tip? I also use it to highlight my cheek bones with the smallest little dabs once my makeup is done.

MAC Fluidline Pen in Retro Black:

I’ve never been very good at applying liquid eyeliner but this MAC one has made it far more fool proof than ever before. It glides really well and the tip makes it easier than others I’ve tried. My favorite part? It dries to a matte finish.

bareMinerals Gen-Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor:

When bareMinerals sent me their new collection of nude lip products I was so excited to try them. I’ve been doing a nude lip for nearly all summer and this collection is gangbusters. I particularly love the matte liquid lipcolor but they also have glossy as well. My favorites are Cookie & Frenemy. The formula is creamy and long-lasting.
