Brooklyn Heights Promenade

December 19, 2016

I talk a lot on this blog about how much I love that I still have so much of New York to explore. When I moved here I started a Google Doc Bucket List and while I’m pretty good at ticking through it, I’m adding something new every week so instead of getting longer… it only seems to grow!

I’ve actually thought about continuing to publish seasonal bucket lists to share with you guys like I did with my Fall Bucket List, as it helped keep me honest and committed! I’ve accomplished about half of the list and am aiming to complete it in its entirety. (Would you like me to continue publishing those sorts of posts?)

Anyhow, today’s shoot location checks off another item on my fall bucket list: visiting the Brooklyn Heights promenade! This beautiful walkway makes me wish I lived over the water in the neighboring borough.

Never one to set out for a new adventure (borough hopping when you live in Manhattan definitely constitutes #adventure – HA!) without coffee in hand, when Dunkin’ Donuts® at Home asked if I’d like to give their Bakery Series® coffee a try as fuel for doing something new in my city, I said mais oui!

When I started working from home full time and became fully self-employed, I started new habits including making coffee from home. When I’m feeling extra-luxurious (and less time constrained), I pull out my mini French press and make a cup. This particular morning I tried out the new Dunkin’ Donuts® at Home Bakery Series® coffee in the Cinnamon Coffee Roll flavor, which is perfectly satisfying for my sweet tooth without being overly sweet. As someone who doesn’t add sugar to her coffee and only uses a few drops of milk, flavored coffees are a fun way to mix up my coffee habit. Other delicious flavor options include Caramel Coffee Cake and Glazed Chocolate Donut.

I took my coffee on the road in my trusty S’well which – in addition to keeping cold beverages cold – it also, fun fact, keeps hot beverages hot for up to 12 hours, making it perfect to brew coffee at home and tote it to your destination (and enjoy en route.)

It was 40 degrees when I set out for the promenade, so an oversized sweater and cozy accessories kept me warm on the somewhat windy promenade. If you haven’t taken a stroll up there, I highly recommend it. The views are gorgeous! Speaking of cozy, did you guys know you can put a faux fireplace on your TV via Netflix? I just learned this and plan to do it all.winter.long!

Love the mug 🙂 The Google doc is such a good idea! I always feel a little guilty when I spend the day hanging at home/relaxing because it’s like NEW YORK! SO MUCH TO DO! Hahah. An actual list would be a great way to keep track!

I ordered the adorable Zara sweater after seeing your post but unfortunately have had an awful customer experience with it. I’m traveling for the holiday so I had it sent to my destination. Got here and found they’d sent a kids parka instead by mistake. Trying to get them to make it right has been surprisingly difficult. Don’t think I’ll be buying from them again. Thought other readers might want to know.
