Favorite Workout Gear

A blogger's journey to weight loss

Happy 2017 you guys! I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating. I sure did!

I’ve been meaning to share a roundup of my favorite workout gear for some time and the beginning of a new year seemed rather appropriate! As I’ve gotten more into a rhythm of working out I’ve found myself investing in the brands that I have come to really love. Why own things you don’t wear because they don’t perform the way you want? The below are my favorites that I wear again and again.

Better yet? Half this list is currently on sale so there’s no better time to give yourself a little fitness inspo via your wardrobe, am I right!?

Favorite Workout Gear I wit & whimsySweaty Betty Infinity Workout Bra: I recently got this bra for my barre and yoga workouts and love it. It’s just supportive enough and I love the intricate back of it. (It’s often hard to wear any interesting or sexy sports bras as a girl with a large chest!!)

Nike Juvenate Sneaker: These are my favorite sneakers to run around town in on the weekends or weekday errands (seen in this post) but they are also the sneakers I always throw on to head to barre and spin classes. They are so comfortable and a great price. I wore my gray ones so much last year that I just got a new pair in black for Christmas!

Nike Modern Sweatshirt: This sweatshirt is perfect for this time of year when layering up to get to the gym is necessary (I walk to all my workouts in the city!) It has just the right amount of weight to it thanks to soft terry material and it has side pockets – heyooo! (And it is currently on sale along with a lot of other stuff at Nordstrom!)

Nike Dri-Fit Training Tank: Nike far and away makes my favorite workout tops. I sweat a lot and so lightweight, breathable fabrics are key hence their dri-fit technology’s appeal. I love the fit of this particular training tank (and it’s on sale!) for any of my workouts (it’s also available in plus size) and this is another great style that’s versatile for any type of fitness.

wit & whimsy I on the pursuit of fitness

Nike Dri-Fit Capris: These are by far my favorite capris particularly for spin classes. I have a couple pair because they wick away extra sweat and stay up without cinching down during workouts.

Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Run Legging:  I’ve written about these before on the blog but they seriously nip everything in and stay up during any workout. (Anyone else hate when workout pants constantly need hiking up!?) They make everything look high and tight and the material is so light which makes them great for runs and spin classes. Best part? These are currently on sale!

Sweaty Betty Ultra Run Bra: I’ve written about this sports bra a bunch because it is my absolute favorite for high-impact workouts. It supports like none other for larger chests making it great to run in and spin in. I love that you can adjust it to make it a racerback and that its designed with mesh panels in areas you’re more apt to sweat so you get extra ventilation. Genius! (p.s. it’s on sale right now! I always buy one when they are on sale so highly recommend you take advantage of this!)

Outdoor Voices Dipped Warmup Legging: I’ve been super into this company ever since hearing an interview with their 27 year old founder on the #Girlboss podcast. She set out to make workout wear that performed well but also had stylish aesthetics like APC clothing. These are chic enough to wear out with the right additions but also great for yoga, barre or hikes. Bonus? They come in loads of color combos. I have the black/charcoal but am obsessed with the new Plum ones they just released!

Also if you’re in a city with Flywheel I really love their gear! I have a few pair of their pants and tanks and they are so great.

On my Wish List:

New workout gear always inspires me to get my bootie in gear and so I have my eye on a few new additions. Lululemon looks like they are back in the game with some awesome pieces, I basically want everything Outdoor Voices and Bandier also has some killer gear. And shoes with a rose gold accent? Yes, please! Below are things at the top of my list!

p.s. want to get more miles out of your sneaks? Get outfit inspo from this post and this post, these are the best workouts in NYC and, finally, if you don’t yet own one of these I can’t recommend having one on hand at home enough!!
