How to Get Glowing Skin

As someone who has suffered from oily, shiny skin most of my life I have been consistently in pursuit of matte skin. But one day it suddenly dawned on me that my skin can still be glowing without being shiny.

I’ve tried so many various products in my pursuit of glowy skin and have narrowed down my favorites to those included in this post. You can use them all together and you’ll achieve that really great “I’m casually lit-from-within” look that is your best friend in photos.

The only products you need to get glowing skin

So here goes…all my favorite products to get super glowy skin!

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base:

I’ve been using this for years! I apply it after my moisturizer and primer (after they dry) and right before I put on my foundation or tinted moisturizer. You can use it all over but I apply it just to the apple of my cheeks for extra radiance. It hydrates and soothes though so you can definitely use it all over your face!

BECCA Pressed Highlighter:

Oh man this highlighter! It is holy grail status for me. So many of my girlfriends also swear by it (and loads of my blogger buddies, too) and for good reason. I use the Opal

Glossier Haloscope:

If you’ve been reading for a while you know I have talked about this illuminator before (it was one of my favorite 2016 beauty discoveries.) It is GREAT for travel (perfectly portable) and let me tell you, it is rather striking when paired with the Becca Illuminator. My last step on my cheeks for nights out is to swipe this on the apples of my cheek and then dust the Becca highlighter over it. POW-POW! I often get asked what I’m wearing when I do this combo. I use the Quartz shade.

Onomie Powerful Priming Serum:

I reach for this primer when I want my skin to be super glowy (vs. more matte). It has botanicals in it that gently exfoliate while giving skin a luminescent glow. My skin is instantly smoother and ready for makeup application. Plus it’s super lightweight and feels so nice going on! Win. Win. (Here’s another Onomie product I love.)

Clarins Illuminating Cheek Color:

I tend to use cream blush most days (this one in Camellia is my favorite) but on days I want a more lit-from-within glow on my cheeks I always swipe on this beautiful blush. I’ve been using it for over five years and it is hands down the best blush ever.

L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Peel Pads:

I recently wrote about these recently here as they are a secret weapon when it comes to on-demand glow. Powered by glycolic acid and Vitamin C, swipe one of these pre-soaked pads all over your face after cleansing and before any of your regular skincare products. They’ll instantly even skin tone (the glycolic helps to exfoliate away any dead skin on the surface) to reveal brighter skin. As far as skincare goes I also love using this M-61 serum every now and then at night when my skin is feeling dull.

I LOVE my Becca pressed powder, but I never thought of using it in combo with a stick highlighter. That might just be the push I need to pick up the haloscope! Loved this post, I too have oily skin but love the glow-y look!

the double duty is really magical! You only need the slightest dusting on top of the Glossier haloscope but it looks pretty killer. If you end up trying it out please do let me know!!
