The Trench

Ted Baker was kind enough to send me this coat before I headed off to Paris last May and I can hardly believe this is its first debut on the blog! I had looked high and low for a classic trench coat that felt worth its price tag for years but always came up empty handed. Then I spotted this one and fell instantly in love. The weight of it is gorgeous, the detailing on the silk striped lapel and the floral lining…everything about it is perfection in my eyes.

This season they released a similar style but one that has this darling piping on it – how cute! I also really love the “deconstructed” one which screams chic. this dressTed Baker pieces are certainly an investment but I can honestly say they are some of the most well made pieces I own. (Remember this dress?! I adore it.) If you’re unfamiliar with their sizes I wear a size 2 in the brand.

If you don’t already have a trench coat you love, it’s high time you head into Spring with one that will be as fashionable as it is practical. I can’t believe I lived without a proper one for so long! Now I love having it as it instantly puts together any outfit you top it over. Two of my favorite San Francisco based brands also just released styles – one from Everlane here and one from Cuyana here that are great, too. Some more options are linked below, too! I particularly love this one with sweet scalloped edges and this one with the sleeve detail.

I honestly threw this outfit together (as evidenced by my hair – ha! #rainday) as it is largely part of my uniform these days. Striped tee + jeans and I’m out the door. I bought these jeans after I kept seeing so many people on Instagram wear them and when I saw their price – I instantly said “checkout”. They are super high-waisted which I love and means they are equally great with more cropped teas as they are with oversized sweaters.

Oh and small PSA but these new sunnies fit so similarly to my beloved Celine ones but are a far better price and are a part of the Shopbop sale right now. They have the coolest matte detailing on the top part of the frames that made me pull the trigger – I love them!

With this outfit and yesterday’s 60-degree weather, I think it is safe to say I am ready to declare “Get here already, Spring!”

This outfit might be my spirit animal – love it! How do the jeans run, size-wise? I’ve only worn Madewell for the past, oh, 5 years so I’d love to branch out and those look right up my alley!
