Some Things I Love About Summer

Gingham Summer Dress I wit & whimsy

After a week straight of pouring rain (and I mean POURING), this past weekend really felt like proper summer weather. I spent nearly all of Sunday outdoors hanging with friends and it got me excited to be in NYC the next two weeks to soak up the summer spirit here in the city.

Some Things I Love About Summer

While I much prefer Fall or Spring to summer, I do have to say this season does have so much to love. A few favorites? Outdoor picnics, cold glasses of wine, cool breezes, warm evenings, lobster rolls, sleeping with the windows open, long days, rooftop gatherings, al fresco dining, linen dresses, the beach, dips in the ocean, messy updos, flowers in bloom, outdoor movies, walks outside, fresh fruit, vacations, cold ice cream and so much more that makes summer special. I love that it feels like summer is just getting started. And there are so many days to look forward to in doing so many of the things I just described.

Do you have a favorite thing about summer? I’d love to hear it in the comments below!

Shoshanna Dress (via Rent the Runway; in Navy & White; wearing an 8 – similar button front style here) // Loeffler Randall Wedges (also here) // J.Crew Clutch (absolutely love this clutch! Has the best magnetic closure) // Similar Sunglasses // Similar Kendra Scott Bracelet

More Good Gingham:

I particularly love this great jumpsuit (I own this similar one in a size 6!), this cute top which is perfect to pair with jeans, this great dress for summer (*adds to cart!), this dress that’s perfect for weekends, this bow-front top and this top that’s so, so good.

p.s. my summer bucket list and my summer wardrobe wish list.

Love your thoughts on Summer!!! We like bike rides, strawberry shortcake, visits to the library, lunch at our pool, and sleeping in.
